Persistence of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus and porcine circovirus type 2 in bacterial biofilms [PDF]
The aim of this pilot project was to investigate association of viruses with bacterial biofilms. Our preliminary data indicate that important viral pathogens of swine, namely, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus and porcine ...

First report of Porcine Circovirus 2 (PCV2) circulation in Ecuador
This report describes the first detection of Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2) from pigs in Ecuador. Samples were collected from 162 animals from November 2010 to March 2011: 25 sick animals from commercial swine herds and 137 from slaughterhouses.

Immunology of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2)
The emergence of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) associated diseases and particularly postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) was a shock for the swine industry and formulated a considerable challenge for researchers in the area of viral immunology in swine. The unique features of PMWS of which emaciation and lymphoid depletion were the most

Investigation into the control of porcine circovirus type 2 associated diseases (PCVAD)
Prior to the introduction of porcine circovirus vaccines, losses from porcine circovirus type 2 infection were high on many Ontario farms. A survey of swine health experts revealed that a large number of intervention strategies were being recommended but
