Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

A wideband oscillation detection technology based on positive sequence instantaneous power algorithm

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
Modern power systems exhibit an integration of high proportion of renewable energy sources and high proportion of power electronics, commonly referred to as ‘double high’ power systems. The interplay between harmonics, interharmonics, and power frequency

On positive sequences of reals whose block sequence has an asymptotic distribution function [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In this paper we study the properties of the unbounded sequence 0≤y₁≤y₂≤y₃≤... of positive reals having asymptotic distribution function of the form x^λ.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

ON THE $P_1$ PROPERTY OF SEQUENCES OF POSITIVE INTEGERS

open access: yesProceedings of the YSU A: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, 2016
In this paper we introduce the concept of $P_1$ property of sequences, consisting of positive integers and prove two criteria revealing this property. First one deals with rather slow increasing sequences while the second one works for those sequences of positive integers which satisfy certain number theoretic condition.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Existence of multiple solutions for quasilinear elliptic equations in R^N

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
In this article, we establish the multiplicity of positive weak solution for the quasilinear elliptic equation $$\displaylines{ -\Delta_p u+\lambda|u|^{p-2}u=f(x) |u|^{s-2 }u+h(x)|u|^{r-2}u\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\cr u>0\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
