Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Existence and multiplicity of positive solutions to systems of nonlinear Hammerstein integral equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2019
This article studies the existence and multiplicity of component-wise positive solutions for systems of nonlinear Hammerstein integral equations. In this system one nonlinear term is uniformly superlinear or uniformly sublinear, and the other is ...

Multiple Positive Solutions of Impulsive Nonlinear Fredholm Integral Equations and Applications

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1993
The author studies impulsive nonlinear Fredholm integral equations such as the following \[ x(t)=\int^ T_ 0H(t,s,x(s))ds+\sum_ ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Existence of positive solutions to a class of elastic beam equations

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2017
Elastic beam is a kind of mathematical model in elastic mechanics and engineering physics. For now, this type of model is often used in real life. On the basis of the relative research on the elastic beam equations with one end fixed and one end sliding ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Positive almost automorphic solutions for some nonlinear delay integral equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
This paper is concerned with some nonlinear delay integral equations arising in an epidemic problem. We establish a new existence and uniqueness theorem about positive almost automorphic solutions for delay integral equations.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
