Tenecteplase Thrombolysis in Posterior Circulation Stroke [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2021
One in five ischaemic strokes affects the posterior circulation. Basilar artery occlusion is a type of posterior circulation stroke associated with a high risk of disability and mortality.

Uncommon Aetiology of a Posterior Circulation Stroke. [PDF]

open access: yesCureus
In this case, a patient presented with sudden-onset diplopia and persistent dizziness. A CT of the head showed two areas of hypoattenuation, one within each cerebellar hemisphere. MRI of the head with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) was consistent with bilateral cerebellar infarcts, but there was no convincing evidence of vasculitis.

Vertigo Due to Posterior Circulation Stroke

open access: yesSeminars in Neurology, 2013
Stroke in the distribution of the posterior circulation may present as acute onset spontaneous vertigo and imbalance. Although vertigo due to posterior circulation stroke is usually associated with other neurologic symptoms or signs, small infarcts in the cerebellum or brainstem can present with vertigo without other localizing symptoms.

Childhood Posterior Circulation Arterial Ischemic Stroke [PDF]

open access: yesStroke, 2010
Background and Purpose— Limited data exist on childhood posterior circulation arterial ischemic stroke (PCAIS). We describe clinical and radiological features of childhood PCAIS to determine whether there are differences in infarct topography, vascular abnormalities, risk factors, and stroke subtypes

Intravenous Thrombolysis in Posterior Circulation Stroke

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2019
Background: Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is a standard treatment for both anterior circulation ischemic stroke (ACIS) and posterior circulation ischemic stroke (PCIS).

Endovascular Thrombectomy With and Without Preceding Thrombolysis in Posterior Circulation Stroke—Insights From STAR [PDF]

open access: yesStroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology
Background Multiple randomized trials could not establish the noninferiority of endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) alone without preceding intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) or superiority of IVT followed by EVT in anterior circulation large‐vessel occlusion ...

Correlation of sdLDL-C and Apob with the degree of cerebral artery stenosis in posterior circulation stroke [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Small and dense LDL cholesterol (sdLDL-C) and apolipoprotein B (ApoB) have important roles in promoting the development of atherosclerosis and are highly correlated with the degree of atherosclerosis.

Posterior Circulation Ischaemic Stroke [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Journal of the Medical Sciences, 2022
Posterior circulation ischaemic stroke (PCIS) is a disease of high mortality and morbidity. They account for 20-25% of all ischaemic strokes. However, it is relatively under-researched and requires more clinical attention, since it carries worse functional outcomes.

Associations of P-selectin and Thromboxane B2 Expression Levels with Efficacy and Prognosis in Patients with Ischemic Stroke Affecting Different Parts of the Brain [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo quanke yixue, 2022
Background Epidemiological investigations have demonstrated that the number of stroke cases is increasing recently, and stroke has become a leading cause of death.
