Cultivating alternative subsistence farming practices in Dangriga, Belize [PDF]
Subsistence farming, also referred to as backyard farming, is an important opportunity for families in areas of low economic status. Small scale poultry farming is another practice often used by families in similar situations because of the financial and

Electric Field‐Driven Conformational Changes in Molecular Memristor and Synaptic Behavior
Self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) based molecular device is used for the emulation of synaptic functions. The device operates with a novel switching mechanism via incoherent charge transport, inducing conformational changes. With a low energy consumption (8.0 pJ µm−2), the system shows promise for neuromorphic computing, offering potential in low‐energy,

A mathematical model about human infections of H7N9 influenza in China with the intervention of live poultry markets closing [PDF]
This paper develops a deterministic differential equations model that captures the H7N9 virus transmission from live poultry to human via poultry-human contacts in live poultry markets (LPMs). The virus circulation among live poultry, which happens but is hard to be detected (since contaminated live poultry appear to be asymptomatic), is also ...

The authors demonstrate a bias voltage‐dependent anisotropic tunneling behavior by designing a ReS2‐based heterojunction operating in the Fowler–Nordheim tunneling regime. The device exhibits a dichroic tunneling current that surpasses the intrinsic anisotropy of ReS2, offering a new strategy to amplify directional responses in 2D materials for ...

This study reveals a novel failure mode in SiO₂/Si₃N₄ stacked capacitors, where dopant diffusion leads to interfacial oxide thinning, reducing dielectric breakdown voltage. Experimental results show that n type capacitors exhibit superior reliability, whereas p type capacitors fail rapidly.

An optimal dynamic balance between carrier lifetime and transit time is achieved in the Bi2O2Se/Ta2NiSe5 tunneling heterojunction, which simultaneously attains high responsivity (>103 A W−1) and a fast response time (≈5 µs). The specific detectivity can reach 3.75 × 1013 Jones at 633 nm and 1.8 × 1010 Jones at 1550 nm. Abstract New technologies such as
