A bioactive ginsenoside alleviates hepatocellular ferroptosis induced by oxidized phospholipid accumulation in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Schematic representation showing that 20 (S)‐Rg3 improves mouse NASH. 20(S)‐Rg3 reduces OxPLs levels and ameliorates ferroptosis in the liver of NASH mice. Mechanistically, 20(S)‐Rg3 activates SPOP. Meanwhile, SPOP attenuates the ATF3‐mediated transcriptional repression of NUPR1 by enhancing the K48‐linked ubiquitination of ATF3.

Liver X Receptor α (LXRα) Regulates 5β‐Reductase (AKR1D1) Expression in Avian Embryos: Implications for Yolk Steroid Metabolism

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Steroid‐mediated maternal effects are well‐studied as a source of phenotypic variation. In bird eggs, the yolk contains various steroids that can influence embryonic development. However, one complicating factor in understanding how yolk steroids affect development is that the embryo metabolizes yolk steroids to regulate exposure.

Does Mobile Money Adoption Improve Dietary Quality? Assessing Household and Individual Level Impacts in Cameroon

open access: yesJournal of International Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mobile money—a digital financial service—has proliferated in many developing countries. Owing to its ability to reduce transaction costs and allow even the poor to be financially included, it has been widely adopted. While a growing body of literature has examined its welfare effects, its effects on diet quality of households and individuals ...
