Effect of best position blade pitching on power coefficient of VAWT at different tip speed ratio by SST & DMST model

open access: yes, 2018
This paper analyses the effect of best position blade pitching on the power coefficient of vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) at different tip speed ratios (TSRs). Single Stream Tube (SST) and Double Multiple Stream Tube (DMST) models are used for present

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Effect of Blade Pitch Angle on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Straight-bladed Vertical Axis Wind Turbine Based on Experiments and Simulations

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The blade pitch angle has a significant influence on the aerodynamic characteristics of horizontal axis wind turbines. However, few research results have revealed its impact on the straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine (Sb-VAWT). In this paper, wind

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Renewable Energy Technology: Transient 3D CFD and Experimental Electrical Evaluation of a Cycloidal-Enhanced Rotor Versus a Savonius and Gorlov-Savonius Rotor with Blade Rotation Angle

open access: yesTechnologies
This study presents a numerical and experimental analysis of vertical-axis Cycloidal rotors (RC) versus Savonius rotors (RS), with and without coupling to a Gorlov rotor (RG), designed to operate under low wind speed conditions of 2.5 m/s.

The coefficients of the powers of a polynomial

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section B Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1967
The general question which prompted thi s note is the following: Suppose that fez) is analytic and zero·free inside the unit circle , and normalized so that f(O) = 1. Let r be real and positive and choose ([or definiteness) that determination of fr(z) for which 1'"(0) = 1. Then what can be said about the order of magnitude of the coefficients of jr(z)?

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
