Teaching Low-Power Electronic Design in Electrical and Computer Engineering

IEEE Transactions on Education, 2005
Because of the continuous scaling of feature size and the increasing demand of mobile communication devices, power dissipation has become a major concern of integrated circuit design. Students in electrical and computer engineering will find it very helpful to learn low-power circuit design techniques before they enter the workforce.

Integrating laboratory and computer exercises into electric power engineering education

Technology-Based Re-Engineering Engineering Education Proceedings of Frontiers in Education FIE'96 26th Annual Conference, 2002
The electrical engineering (EE) department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) has always been committed to providing a laboratory or hands-on intensive curriculum in addition to the theory. However, the electric power industry now relies heavily on computer based simulation, analysis, and design tools.

Computer aided power flow software engineering and code generation

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1996
In this paper a software engineering concept is described which permits the automatic solution of a nonlinear set of network equations. The power flow equation set can be seen as a defined subset of a network equation set. The automated solution process is the numerical Newton-Raphson solution process of the power flow equations where the key code ...

Application of Soft Computing Techniques in Power Engineering

2016
A discharge estimator is designed and analyzed in this chapter to estimate the discharge with voltage, frequency and current without prior knowledge of head. A control of discharge in submersible pump is achieved by varying the motor speed. In VSI fed induction motor the speed is varied by varying the switching frequency.
