Equity‐aware power distribution system restoration
The efficient, reliable, and resilient supply of electricity has become essential for social and economic well‐being of the modern society. However, more frequent occurrence of extreme weather events has exposed inequity in the planning and operation ...

The role of intelligent systems in delivering the smart grid [PDF]
The development of "smart" or "intelligent" energy networks has been proposed by both EPRI's IntelliGrid initiative and the European SmartGrids Technology Platform as a key step in meeting our future energy needs.

A Multi-Agent Approach to Power System Restoration
This paper proposes a multi-agent approach to power system restoration. The proposed system consists of several bus agents (BAGs) and a single facilitator agent (FAG). A BAG is developed to decide a sub-optimal target configuration after faults occur by interacting with other BAGs, while a FAG is developed to act as a manager for the decision process ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Quantitative Resilience Assessment under a Tri-Stage Framework for Power Systems
The frequent occurrence of natural disasters and malicious attacks has exerted unprecedented disturbances on power systems, accounting for the extensive attention paid to power system resilience.

Optimal Power Systems Restoration Based on Energy Quality and Stability Criteria
Electric power systems (EPS) are exposed to disconnections of their elements, such as transmission lines and generation units, due to meteorological factors or electrical failures.

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Stochastic Model for Power Grid Dynamics [PDF]
We introduce a stochastic model that describes the quasi-static dynamics of an electric transmission network under perturbations introduced by random load fluctuations, random removing of system components from service, random repair times for the failed

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
