Nuclear localization of the human cytomegalovirus tegument protein pp150 (ppUL32)

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1995
The human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) basic phosphoprotein pp150, encoded by the UL32 gene, together with the two other major phosphoproteins, pp65 (ppUL83) and pp71 (ppUL82) and several minor structural proteins, form the tegument around the viral nucleocapsid.

Human cytomegalovirus infection of langerhans-type dendritic cells does not require the presence of the gH/gL/UL128-131A complex and is blocked after nuclear deposition of viral genomes in immature cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Human cytomegalovirus (CMV) enters its host via the oral and genital mucosae. Langerhans-type dendritic cells (LC) are the most abundant innate immune cells at these sites, where they constitute a first line of defense against a variety of pathogens.

PDGF Receptor-α Does Not Promote HCMV Entry into Epithelial and Endothelial Cells but Increased Quantities Stimulate Entry by an Abnormal Pathway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor-α (PDGFRα) were reported to mediate entry of HCMV, including HCMV lab strain AD169.

Bicaudal D1-Dependent Trafficking of Human Cytomegalovirus Tegument Protein pp150 in Virus-Infected Cells [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2010
ABSTRACT Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) virion assembly takes place in the nucleus and cytoplasm of infected cells. The HCMV virion tegument protein pp150 (ppUL32) is an essential protein of HCMV and has been suggested to play a role in the cytoplasmic phase of HCMV assembly.

Features of IgG-antibodies production to individual Cytomegalovirus proteins in various eye diseases (age-related macular degeneration and central serous chorioretinopathy)

open access: yesИнфекция и иммунитет, 2021
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) are diseases targeting the posterior segment of the eye that often lead to lowered visual functions. Pathogenesis of such disorders largely remains unclear.

Independent and joint effects of antibodies to human heat-shock protein 60 and Chlamydia pneumoniae infection in the development of coronary atherosclerosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Background—Studies have suggested that the prevalence of antibodies against heat-shock proteins (HSPs), Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cpn), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD), but the independent or joint effects of ...

The ZupT transporter plays an important role in zinc homeostasis and contributes to Salmonella enterica virulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Zinc is an essential metal for cellular homeostasis and function in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. To acquire this essential nutrient, bacteria employ transporters characterized by different affinity for the metal. Several studies have investigated the

Mapping of serologically relevant regions of human cytomegalovirus phosphoprotein pp150 using synthetic peptides

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1991
The entire amino acid sequence of human cytomegalo-virus (HCMV) 150K matrix phosphoprotein (pp150), consisting of 1048 amino acid residues, was divided into 95 overlapping 20 amino acid peptides which were synthesized on polyethylene rods. The rods were subjected to ELISA with pooled anti-HCMV-positive and anti-HCMV-negative sera.

Changing the Rules of the Game: The Impact of Privatization on Firm Industrial Relations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper examines the impact of privatization on the relative bargaining strength of management and trade unions. Findings are based on a study of Ireland’s largest telecoms provider, Eircom, which has been privatized since 1999.
