Mechanistic study on PQQ improving the quality of aged bovine oocytes and early embryonic developmental potential via Nrf2-mediated redox signaling.

Cellular Signalling
In beef cattle breeding and improvement, in vitro maturation (IVM) technology serves as the foundation of in vitro production (IVP) technology. However, oocytes inevitably suffer from aging damage during the IVM process, which severely impairs their ...

Structural Studies on the PQQ-Like Cofactor of Nitroalkane Oxidase from Fusarium Oxysporum

1989
Nitroalkane oxidase from Fusarium oxysporum exhibits absorption maxima at 274, 340 and 450 nm, and shoulders at 380 and 470 nm. The absorption and fluorescence spectra of the enzyme suggest the presence of both FAD and a PQQ-like compound as cofactors. The bound FAD is easily resolved from the enzyme by dialysis against 1 M KBr.

Lanthanide(III)-dependent hydration of the methanol dehydrogenase cofactor, pyrroloquinoline quinone.

Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry
The mechanism by which pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ)-dependent methanol dehydrogenases (MDH), bearing either a Ca2+ or a lanthanide (Ln3+) ion in their active site, oxidize methanol has been intensely debated.
