Uniform semiglobal practical asymptotic stability for non-autonomous cascaded systems and applications

open access: yes, 2006
It is due to the modularity of the analysis that results for cascaded systems have proved their utility in numerous control applications as well as in the development of general control techniques based on ``adding integrators''.

Stability of Natural Systems – Theory and Practice [PDF]

open access: yesMiscellanea Geographica, 2008
Abstract The article discusses definitions and origin of the term “stability”. A difference is made between the stability of systems and their equilibrium. Practical and theoretical application of the term and limitations of its application are presented.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Use of an Inertia Sphere to Damp the Angular Motions of Spinning Space Vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes
A theoretical study was made of a device which might be used to damp the angular motions of spin-stabilized space vehicles with constant moments of inertia.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Practical Stability of Impulsive Discrete Systems with Time Delays

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the practical stability problem for impulsive discrete systems with time delays. By using Lyapunov functions and the Razumikhin-type technique, some criteria which guarantee the practical stability and ...

To the question of the stabilization of motion metods of practical stability

open access: yesEnergy and automation, 2018
Topicality. When solving a number of problems associated with the design of complex control systems [1-3], it often becomes necessary to adjust the motion in the vicinity of the calculated trajectories set at the initial moment of time and belong to some dynamic sets of phase space [2, 3].
