Content Analysis of Precedent Phenomena in the Novels by B. Akunin

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Language Studies, Semiotics and Semantics, 2014
The use of the precedent phenomenon in literature can be considered as the artistic touch applied by the author to create more exact and at the same time indirect characteristic of the hero or any element of the plot.

High‐Performance n‐Type Organic Thermoelectrics Enabled by Control Over Microstructure, Orientation and Contact Plane in Naphthalenediimide‐Bithiazole‐Copolymer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Effective control over the crystalline contact plane and microstructure of a naphthalenediimide‐bithiazole copolymer enables high‐performance n‐type thermoelectrics. While rubbing alignment induces a detrimental edge‐on orientation, subsequent solvent vapor‐induced re‐orientation facilitates a favorable mixed face‐on/edge‐on morphology.

Precedent in Poetry as a Strategy of Linguistic Influence and Manipulation

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Language Studies, Semiotics and Semantics
The precedent in poetry is a strategy of linguistic influence and manipulation to identify its mechanisms and functions in shaping reader perception and emotional response. Precedent phenomena in poetry are considered as a powerful, but often hidden tool

Operando Tracking of Oxygen‐Vacancy Dynamics and Negative Capacitance in Ca‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, combined with electrocoloration, enables a direct correlation between real‐space ionic redistribution and the corresponding frequency‐domain electrical response. In lateral Ca‐doped BiFeO3 devices, time‐resolved impedance snapshots capture the evolution from bulk‐dominated mixed conduction to an ...

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

Features of semiotic encoding of a precedent name or “an ordinary Soviet man” in a polycode text

open access: yesГуманитарные и юридические исследования
Introduction. The article studies features of encoding precedent names (PNs) and precedent images in modern polycode texts with account of their semiotically complicated nature and the characteristics of visual / verbal / auditory forms of precedence ...

Molecular Rotors: From Newtonian Fluids to Functional Materials as Viscosity and Temperature Sensing Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular rotors are fluorescent molecules that are sensitive to viscosity and temperature variations in the environment. They exhibit a direct correlation between fluorescence and viscosity within Newtonian fluids. However, this correlation becomes less straightforward in complex systems.

The role of the precedent phenomenon in creating a language game in the headlines of political media discourse [PDF]

open access: yesLinguistic Frontiers, 2019
Abstract The precedent phenomenon is estimated as a productive source for creating the language game in the headlines of political media discourse. Headlines based on a language game draw the attention of the reader more quickly. There are often used precedent phenomena, understood as culturally loaded signs, known to a major part of ...
