A Bramble-Pasciak conjugate gradient method for discrete Stokes equations with random viscosity

open access: yes, 2018
We study the iterative solution of linear systems of equations arising from stochastic Galerkin finite element discretizations of saddle point problems. We focus on the Stokes model with random data parametrized by uniformly distributed random variables ...

h-multigrid agglomeration based solution strategies for discontinuous Galerkin discretizations of incompressible flow problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this work we exploit agglomeration based $h$-multigrid preconditioners to speed-up the iterative solution of discontinuous Galerkin discretizations of the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations.

Preconditioning of conjugate gradients by multigrid solver [PDF]

open access: yesApplications of Mathematics, 1994
A system of linear algebraic equations \(Ax= b\) is solved by the preconditioned conjugate gradient method. In each step it is usually necessary to solve an auxiliary system of linear equations. In the paper, instead of it, for preconditioning one iteration of the two level method for \(Ax= b\) is used.

Electronic Structure Modulation Induced by Asymmetric Cu─Ni Centers in a π‐Conjugated Triazine MOF

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A π‐conjugated H3TATB‐based asymmetric bimetallic CuNi‐MOF was developed as an efficient electrocatalyst for alkaline hydrogen evolution. Benefiting from synergistic Cu–Ni interactions, enhanced charge transfer, and stabilized active sites, CuNi‐MOF delivers superior HER performance with low overpotential, improved kinetics, and 24 h durability.

Primal Domain Decomposition Method with Direct and Iterative Solver for Circuit-Field-Torque Coupled Parallel Finite Element Method to Electric Machine Modelling

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2015
The analysis and design of electromechanical devices involve the solution of large sparse linear systems, and require therefore high performance algorithms.

An Improved 3D Magnetization Inversion Based on Smoothness Constraints in Spherical Coordinates

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2022
In the inverse problem, the traditional way to obtain a stable solution is based on the maximum smoothness criteria. However, this approach cannot generate clearer and more focused images.

Acceleration Schemes for Ab-Initio Molecular Dynamics and Electronic Structure Calculations

open access: yes, 1994
We study the convergence and the stability of fictitious dynamical methods for electrons. First, we show that a particular damped second-order dynamics has a much faster rate of convergence to the ground-state than first-order steepest descent algorithms

Analysis of Parallel Preconditioned Conjugate Gradient Algorithms

open access: yesInformatica, 2005
Summary: The conjugate gradient method is an iterative technique used to solve systems of linear equations. The paper analyzes the performance of parallel preconditioned conjugate gradient (PPCG) algorithms. First, a theoretical model is proposed for the estimation of the complexity of the PPCG method and a scalability analysis is done for three ...

Super-resolution using preconditioned conjugate gradient method [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2002
In this paper we present a fast iterative image superresolution algorithm using preconditioned conjugate gradient method. To avoid explicitly computing the tolerance in the inverse filter based preconditioner scheme,1 a new Wiener filter based preconditioner for the conjugate gradient method is proposed to speed up the convergence.
