Inherently Disordered Auxetic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inherently disordered auxetic metamaterials based on random chiral Delaunay triangulations are designed and investigated using numerical simulations and experimental tests. These disordered frameworks exhibit orthotropic behavior and a large negative Poisson's ratio (ca.

The Numerical Solution of Singularly Perturbed Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations in Three Space Variables: The Adaptive Explicit Inverse Preconditioning Approach

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering, 2019
Critical comments on the complexity of computational systems and the basic singularly perturbed (SP) concepts are given. A class of several complex SP nonlinear elliptic equations arising in various branches of science, technology, and engineering is ...

Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

Non-recursive equivalent of the conjugate gradient method without the need to restart

open access: yes, 2019
A simple alternative to the conjugate gradient(CG) method is presented; this method is developed as a special case of the more general iterated Ritz method (IRM) for solving a system of linear equations.

Senomorphic Small Extracellular Vesicles Delivered by a Tissue‐Adhesive α‐Lipoic‐Acid Hydrogel Enable Immuno‐Rejuvenation for Bone‐Tendon Interface Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work identifies M1 macrophage‐mediated inflammation as a key driver of BMSC senescence and bone microstructural deterioration at the enthesis. A tissue‐adhesive hydrogel delivering senomorphic small extracellular vesicles suppresses this inflammatory‐senescent cascade and enhances BMSC resilience by inhibiting the cGAS‐STING‐NF‐κB pathway.

M-step preconditioned conjugate gradient methods [PDF]

open access: yes
Preconditioned conjugate gradient methods for solving sparse symmetric and positive finite systems of linear equations are described. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for when these preconditioners can be used and an analysis of their ...

On choice of preconditioner for minimum residual methods for nonsymmetric matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Existing convergence bounds for Krylov subspace methods such as GMRES for nonsymmetric linear systems give little mathematical guidance for the choice of preconditioner.

Block Locally Optimal Preconditioned Eigenvalue Xolvers (BLOPEX) in hypre and PETSc

open access: yes, 2007
We describe our software package Block Locally Optimal Preconditioned Eigenvalue Xolvers (BLOPEX) publicly released recently. BLOPEX is available as a stand-alone serial library, as an external package to PETSc (``Portable, Extensible Toolkit for ...

Injectable Porous Microspheres Loaded With Biomimetic Preconditioned Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes for Vascularized Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of injectable PDA‐modified GelMA microspheres loaded with BioPre‐Exos for vascularized bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Critical‐sized bone defects remain a highly challenging clinical problem due to insufficient intrinsic self‐healing capacity.

Some Preconditioning Techniques for Saddle Point Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Saddle point problems arise frequently in many applications in science and engineering, including constrained optimization, mixed finite element formulations of partial differential equations, circuit analysis, and so forth.
