Interoceptive accuracy predicts nonplanning trait impulsivity

Psychophysiology, 2019
AbstractInfluential theories concerning personality argue that many impulsive individuals show physiological underarousal at rest. This interoceptive state is proposed to be egodystonic, motivating impulsive maladaptive actions to enhance arousal. However, there is little empirical research on this matter.

Retrieval effort cues predict eyewitness accuracy.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, 2018
Previous research has documented that correct eyewitness memories are more rapidly recalled and recognized than are incorrect ones, suggesting that retrieval ease is diagnostic of memory accuracy. Building on these findings, the current research explores whether verbal and paraverbal cues to retrieval effort could be used to determine the accuracy of ...

Strive for accuracy—improvement of predictions

Computers & Fluids, 1980
Abstract Finite-difference approximations to the governing equations of fluid motinos are discussed for viscous three-dimensional flows for Reynolds numbers of several hundred, for three-dimensional incompressible and compressible boundary layers and for inviscid near-sonic supersonic flows.

Assessing Predictive Accuracy in Discriminant Analysis

Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1987
The estimation of probabilities of correct classification is a primary concern in predictive discriminant analysis. Three such probabilities are: (a) the optimal hit rate, that obtained when the classification rule is based on known parameters; (b) the actual hit rate, that obtained by applying a rule based on a particular sample to future samples; and

The accuracy of preoperative orthognathic predictions

British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2004
We assessed the accuracy of preoperative OPAL trade mark orthognathic predictions by retrospective analysis of 25 Class II patients who had had orthodontic treatment combined with mandibular advancement osteotomy. Preoperative and postoperative lateral cephalographs were digitised and surgical predictions generated using OPAL software.

Variation and the Accuracy of Predictions

The British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, 1997
I present a justification for the intuition that more-varied data are more valuable than the same number of less-varied data by showing that the more-varied data help to improve the accuracy of our predictions.

Fold Recognition by Predicted Alignment Accuracy

IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, 2005
One of the key components in protein structure prediction by protein threading technique is to choose the best overall template for a given target sequence after all the optimal sequence-template alignments are generated. The chosen template should have the best alignment with the target sequence since the three-dimensional structure of the target ...
