Alternative solution for ex vivo lung perfusion, experimental study on donated human lungs non-accepted for transplantation [PDF]
PURPOSE: To evaluate a new perfusate solution to be used for ex vivo lung perfusion.METHODS: Randomized experimental study using lungs from rejected brain-dead donors harvested and submitted to 1 hour of ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) using mainstream ...

Constraint-satisfying Krylov solvers for structure-preserving discretisations [PDF]
A key consideration in the development of numerical schemes for time-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs) is the ability to preserve certain properties of the continuum solution, such as associated conservation laws or other geometric structures of the solution.

In this article, we tested optimal SNP filtering strategies for accurate parentage assignment and pedigree reconstruction for a wild population of red‐spotted masu salmon, Oncorhynchus masou ishikawae. We found that mid‐point filtering in terms of call rate and minor allele frequency performs well for pedigree reconstruction.

Explicit solutions for a probabilistic moraine preservation model
If a series of glacial advances occurs over the same pathway, the moraines that are now present may constitute an incomplete record of the total history.

A numerical model preserving nontrivial steady-state solutions for predicting waves run-up on coastal areas [PDF]
In this study, a numerical model preserving a class of nontrivial steady-state solutions is proposed to predict waves propagation and waves run-up on coastal zones. The numerical model is based on the Saint-Venant system with source terms due to variable bottom topography and bed friction effects.

In this study, we compared three methods for kinship identification using different algorithms in samples of wild Pacific bluefin tuna and generated genotyping data. The three methods resulted in different numbers of inferred kinship pairs for both generated and actual data. Particularly for the half‐sibling pairs, considerable number of false‐positive

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.
