Improving the viability of tissue‐resident stem cells using an organ‐preservation solution

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2019
Human clinical specimens are a valuable source of tissue‐resident stem cells, but such cells need to be collected immediately after tissue collection. To extend the timescale for collection from fresh human samples, we developed a new extracellular fluid

Orthogonality Hilbert A-modules and operators preserving multi-A-linearity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper we present results concerning orthogonality in Hilbert $C^*$-modules. Moreover, for a $C^*$-algebra $\mathscr{A}$, we prove theorems concerning the multi-$\mathscr{A}$-linearity and its preservation by $\mathscr{A}$-linear operators. New version of solution of the orthogonality equation on Hilbert $C^*$-modules and mappings preserving ...

Charged String-like Solutions of Low-energy Heterotic String Theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. D47 (1993) 2528-2535, 1992
Two string-like solutions to the equations of motion of the low-energy effective action for the heterotic string are found, each a source of electric and magnetic fields. The first carries an electric current equal to the electric charge per unit length and is the most general solution which preserves one half of the supersymmetries.

Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Induction of Necrosis and DNA Fragmentation during Hypothermic Preservation of Hepatocytes in UW, HTK, and Celsior Solutions

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2003
Donor cells can be preserved in University of Wisconsin (UW), histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate (HTK), or Celsior solution. However, differences in efficacy and mode of action in preventing hypothermia-induced cell injury have not been unequivocally ...

Measure-preserving symmetries and reversibilities of ordinary differential systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We prove that measure-preserving symmetries of an $n$-dimensional differential system preserve its divergence and the divergence derivatives along the solutions. Also, we prove that measure-preserving reversibilities preserve odd-order divergence derivatives along the solutions, and that even-order derivatives are multiplied by $-1$.

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 8, Page 1094-1112, April 2025.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

Evaluation of the presence of microorganisms in solid-organ preservation solution

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2011
Objective: To assess the presence of microorganism contamination in the preservation solution for transplant organs (kidney/pancreas). Method: Between August 2007 and March 2008, 136 samples of preservation solution were studied prior to graft ...

Blow-up and global solutions to L^p norm preserving non-local flows [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
In this paper, we study global existence and blow up properties to $L^p$ norm preserving non-local heat flows. We first study two kinds of $L^p$ norm preserving non-local flows and prove that these flows have the global solutions. Finally, we give a example to show that one kind of this heat flow may blow up in $L^{\infty}$ norm though its $L^p$ norm ...

Structural and mechanistic basis for the regulation of the chloroplast signal recognition particle by (p)ppGpp

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.
