Scaling in Pressure Stimulated Currents related with rock fracture
Abstract The application of uniaxial stress in rocks is accompanied by the production of an electric signal which described by the term Pressure Stimulated Current (PSC). Here we present a statistical analysis of PSC time series from rock fracture experiments obtained from samples of calcite and cement mortar materials.

An analysis of pressure stimulated currents (PSC), in marble samples under mechanical stress
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, 2006Abstract The pressure stimulated current (PSC) technique was used in two variations, LSRT and SST for the investigation of the relations governing stress rate d S /d t , electric charge release and the behaviour of the damage parameter D , when a rock sample is driven to fracture by application of uniaxial compressional stress.

Abstract Precursor information of rock fracture is a prerequisite for rock dynamic disaster (RDD) prediction. To investigate the precursor information of rock fracture based on pressure stimulated current (PSC), progressive loading (PL) and step-like loading (SLL) experiments on sandstone samples were conducted.

Is pressure stimulated current relaxation in amphibolite a case of non-extensivity?
EPL (Europhysics Letters), 2012The application of uniaxial stress on rocks is accompanied by the production of an electric signal which is described by the term pressure stimulated current (PSC). In this work the high rate step stress (HRSS) technique is applied, and the PSC relaxation in amphibolite samples from KTB drilling, is studied in the frame of non-extensive statistical ...
