Copper–Collagen Interactions Regulate the Mechanical and Invasive Properties of Tumor Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic copper is investigated as a modulator of tumor spheroid growth and invasiveness in a 3D microfluidic glioblastoma model. Copper exposure alters metabolic activity, cytoskeletal organization, protrusion dynamics, and EMT‐related phenotypes in a dose‐ and timing‐dependent manner, revealing how copper bioavailability shapes tumor aggressiveness ...

One‐Step Microfluidic Manufactured Fucose‐Decorated Sweetosomes Choose the Time and the Road for Their Intracellular Journey to Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

Extracellular Vesicles Modulation by an Adiponectin Receptor Agonist Provides Cardioprotection for Myocardial Ischemic Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that ALY688, a drug mimicking the heart‐protective hormone adiponectin, reduces myocardial ischemia injury. ALY688 increases the production of extracellular vesicles, which carry protective cargo including adiponectin itself.

Pretreatment of wheat straw by nonionic surfactant-assisted dilute acid for enhancing enzymatic hydrolysis and ethanol production

open access: yes, 2010
Pretreating wheat straw (WS) with combined use of varied sulfuric acid concentration (0-3%, w/v) and Tween 20 concentration (0-1%) was investigated in an attempt to enhance the hydrolysis and fermentability of pretreated WS. Enzymatic hydrolysis yield of
