Post Arthrotomy Prevotella bivia Septic Arthritis and Secondary Osteomyelitis

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 2019
Prevotella is a common gram-negative anaerobic rod that is frequently associated with female genitourinary tract infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, aspiration pneumonia, lung abscess and pleural empyema.

Prevotella species as oral residents and infectious agents with potential impact on systemic conditions

open access: yesJournal of Oral Microbiology, 2022
Oral Prevotella are known as anaerobic commensals on oral mucosae and in dental plaques from early life onwards, including pigmented P. melaninogenica, P. nigrescens, and P. pallens and non-pigmented Prevotella species. Many Prevotella species contribute

Prevotella in the gut: choose carefully

open access: yes, 2016
Gut microbial communities often contain many Bacteroides or their close relatives, Prevotella, but not both. Prevotella strains are associated with plant-rich diets but are also linked with chronic inflammatory conditions.

Optimal Algorithm for Gut Microbiota Differentiation: A Pilot Study of Adolescents with Different Body Weights

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Scholar
Background: The enterotype concept allows the differentiation of gut microbiota in relation to individual characteristics and is determined by the genetics and external stressors of the host.

한국인 치주감염환자에서의 Prevotella intermedia와 Prevotella nigrescens의 발현빈도 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Prevotella intermedia has been implicated as a potent pathogen in many kinds of periodontal, pulpal and periapical diseases. However, it has been isolated from periodontally healthy adults and from edentulous children as well.

Prevotella intermedia and Prevotella nigrescens serotypes, ribotypes and binding characteristics.

open access: yes, 1996
Type strains and 62 clinical isolates of Prevotella intermedia and Prevotella nigrescens were typed with the use of genomic DNA fingerprints and rRNA gene probes.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Gut microbiota alterations in patients with non‐small‐cell lung cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigated the impact of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) on the gut microbiota in patients with locally advanced non‐small‐cell lung cancer. Overall gut microbiota composition remained largely stable throughout CRT while antibiotic exposure may influence microbial diversity.
