Priestley Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1990
We give a purely order-theoretic characterization of complete lattices that are compact totally order-disconnected (Priestley) spaces with respect to the Lawson topology. We also characterize complete lattices that are Priestley spaces with respect to the interval topology.

Remarks on Hyperspaces for Priestley Spaces

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
The Vietoris space of a Stone space plays an important role in the coalgebraic approach to modal logic. When generalizing this to positive modal logic, there is a variety of relevant hyperspace constructions based on various topologies on a Priestley space and mechanisms to topologize the hyperspace of closed sets.

On Priestley Spaces of Lattice-Ordered Algebraic Structures

open access: yesOrder, 1998
The Priestley duality for implicative lattices has been studied by the second author [see \textit{H. A. Priestley}, ``Natural dualities'', in: K. A. Baker et al. (eds.), Lattice theory and its applications (Res. Expo. Math. 23, Heldermann Verlag, Lemgo), 185-209 (1995; Zbl 0839.06009)].

Priestley spaces: the threefold way [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Three different ways of describing Priestley spaces are presented: as the objects of a category which arises in the equivalence induced by an adjunction F . U : OrdTopop ¡æ Lat, as limits of (suitable) finite topologically-discrete preordered spaces (i.e.

On Uncertainties of the Priestley-Taylor/LST-Fc Feature Space Method to Estimate Evapotranspiration: Case Study in an Arid/Semiarid Region in Northwest China [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2014
Accurate evapotranspiration (ET) estimation is very crucial for water resource management, particularly for the arid and semi-arid region. The remote sensing-based Priestley-Taylor method (RS-PT method) can estimate ET at regional scale, using the feature space of remotely sensed land surface temperature (LST) and vegetation index (VI).

Teacher agency in curriculum making: agents of change and spaces for manoeuvre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In the wake of new forms of curricular policy in many parts of the world, teachers are increasingly required to act as agents of change. And yet, teacher agency is under-theorised and often misconstrued in the educational change literature, wherein ...

Deriving dualities in pointfree topology from Priestley duality

open access: yes, 2023
There are several prominent duality results in pointfree topology. The Hofmann-Lawson duality establishes that the category of continuous frames is dually equivalent to the category of locally compact sober spaces.

Proper spaces are spectral [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
[EN] Since Hochster's work, spectral spaces have attracted increasing interest. Through this note we give a new self-contained and constructible topology-independent proof of the fact that the set of proper ideals of a ring endowed with coarse lower ...
