Natural dualities in partnership

open access: yes, 2012
Traditionally in natural duality theory the algebras carry no topology and the objects on the dual side are structured Boolean spaces. Given a duality, one may ask when the topology can be swapped to the other side to yield a partner duality (or, better,

Creativity, collaboration and conformity: Curriculum making and teacher motivation

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 356-373, June 2026.
Abstract There is a teacher recruitment and retention crisis in England. There is a particular challenge in recruiting physical science teachers, with government targets for recruitment being missed for the last 10 years and a high proportion of physical science teachers leaving early in their careers.

Topological ordered C- (resp. I-)spaces and generalized metric spaces

open access: yes, 2009
The following result due to Hanai, Morita, and Stone is well known: Let f be a closed continuous map of a metric space X onto a topological space Y. Then the following statements are equivalent: (i) Y satisfies the first countability axiom; (ii) for each

Teacher agency in curriculum and pedagogical development: Reflections from a design research project about self‐regulated learning in secondary schools

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 422-442, June 2026.
Abstract Transnational guidelines on skills and competencies for lifelong learning, along with curriculum reforms to promote curriculum flexibility and autonomy in schools, are pressing teachers to be engaged in curriculum and pedagogical innovation focused on student‐centred approaches favourable to developing learner autonomy.

MORE ON CONFIGURATIONS IN PRIESTLEY SPACES, AND SOME NEW PROBLEMS

open access: yes, 2008
. Prohibiting configurations ( ≡ induced finite connected posets) in Priestley spaces and properties of the associated classes of distributive lattices, and the related problem of configurations in coproducts of Priestley spaces, have been brought to ...

English across the four nations: A ‘home international’ comparison of secondary English curricula in the UK

open access: yesThe Curriculum Journal, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 523-543, June 2026.
Abstract Every child across the UK is expected to study English until the age of 16. The subject is understood to be a core and foundational element of pupils' curriculum entitlement across their school lives, and success in English is a key determinant for influencing individuals' future trajectories, and for impacting wider economic and social ...

Categorical logic from the perspective of duality and compact ordered spaces

open access: yes, 2023
Le sujet d'étude principal de cette thèse est une généralisation de la logique cohérente, Booléenne et intuitionniste qui sera introduite et développée d'un point de vue purement topologique. Le cheminement de cette généralisation est le suivant.

Influence of Soil and Land‐Use/Land‐Cover Data Quality on SWAT Parameter Transferability in Small Subtropical Agricultural Watersheds

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Does input soil and land‐use quality affect SWAT parameter transfer in neighbouring watersheds? Our proxy‐basin experiment in two small agricultural watersheds under crop–livestock rotations showed that capturing LULC dynamics and refining soil characterization can substantially enhance parameter transferability to ungauged neighbouring watersheds ...

Hyperconvexity and endpoints in T₀-quasi-metric spaces

open access: yes, 2013
Over the last decades much progress has been made in the investigation of hyperconvexity in metric spaces. Recently Kemajou and others have published an article concerning hyperconvexity in T₀-quasi-metric spaces.

Modelling Storage‐Discharge Relationships in an Alpine Basin in the Canadian Rockies

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
CRHM was used to model storage‐discharge relationships for Fortress Mountain Research Basin, an alpine basin in the Canadian Rockies. The model showed reasonable predictions of snow accumulation, snowmelt, liquid soil moisture, and streamflow, and nonlinear and hysteretic storage‐discharge relationships for this alpine basin.
