ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Depletion of chondrocyte primary cilia reduces the compressive modulus of articular cartilage [PDF]
Primary cilia are slender, microtubule based structures found in the majority of cell types with one cilium per cell. In articular cartilage, primary cilia are required for chondrocyte mechanotransduction and the development of healthy tissue.

Nanoparticle-induced growth behavior of primary α-Mg in AZ91 alloys
Significant grain refinement of AZ91 alloys was achieved by ceramic nanoparticle(NP)-induced growth control. Advanced characterization techniques including 3D tomography and in-situ observation were carried out to examine the microstructure evolution ...

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Hepatocyte Growth Factor and Primary Systemic Amyloidosis
A 75-year-old-man experienced liver dysfunction and was diagnosed with decompensated liver cirrhosis. His serum hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) was very high (16.24 ng/ml). Because the etiology was unclear, we considered the possibility of amyloidosis. Biopsy of the mucosa of the stomach, duodenum and rectum demonstrated amyloid deposition.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...
