The number of rational points of some classes of algebraic varieties over finite fields

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
Let Fq{{\mathbb{F}}}_{q} be the finite field of characteristic pp and Fq*=Fq\{0}{{\mathbb{F}}}_{q}^{* }\left={{\mathbb{F}}}_{q}\backslash \left\{0\right\}.

On a Fractal Representation of the Density of Primes

open access: yesRecoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal, 2014
The number of primes less or equal to a real number x, π(x), has been approximated in the past by the reciprocal of the logarithm of the number x. Such an approximation works well when x is large but it can be poor when x is small.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Pseudo-prime number simulation and its application for security purpose

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Many public cryptography schemes rely on the use of prime numbers like for encryption and decryption. A prime number is one number that is widely used and large and consists of hundreds of digits, so it takes time to test whether the numbers are prime or

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Weighted Prime Number Theorem on Arithmetic Progressions with Refinements

open access: yesMathematics
We present an extension of the Dirichlet-type prime number theorem to weighted counting functions, the importance of which has recently been recognized for formulating Chebyshev’s bias.
