Macdonald denominators for affine root systems, orthogonal theta functions, and elliptic determinantal point processes

open access: yes, 2018
Rosengren and Schlosser introduced notions of ${\it R}_N$-theta functions for the seven types of irreducible reduced affine root systems, ${\it R}_N={\it A}_{N-1}$, ${\it B}_{N}$, ${\it B}^{\vee}_N$, ${\it C}_{N}$, ${\it C}^{\vee}_N$, ${\it BC}_{N ...

IgA Antibodies Reveal Covert Infection With Mpox Virus in People Living With HIV in the Community: A Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Survey

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study identified covert infection of MPXV among people living with HIV and MPXV‐IgA was the effective indicator. The combined use of two antigen protein set of MPXV (B6R plus E8L and E8L plus H3L) yield IgA test results comparable to those obtained with the MPXV.

Predicting wildlife reservoirs and global vulnerability to zoonotic Flaviviruses. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Flaviviruses continue to cause globally relevant epidemics and have emerged or re-emerged in regions that were previously unaffected. Factors determining emergence of flaviviruses and continuing circulation in sylvatic cycles are incompletely understood.

Longitudinal kinetics of neutralizing antibodies against circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants and estimated level of group immunity of booster-vaccinated individuals during omicron-dominated COVID-19 outbreaks in the Republic of Korea, 2022

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic persisted for 3 years and is now transitioning to endemicity. We illustrated the change in group immunity induced by vaccination (monovalent vaccines) and breakthrough infections (BIs) in a healthcare worker (HCW ...

Sex Differences in Response to Viral Vector Vaccines—Implications for Future Vaccine Design

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 338, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Vaccination represents one of the most impactful public health achievements, preventing 3.5 to 5 million deaths annually according to estimates of the World Health Organization. Yet, recent outbreaks of emerging and reemerging infectious diseases highlight the need for rapid and strategic vaccine development using vaccine platforms ...

Agronomic performance of maize and cover crops using composted sewage sludge to supply phosphorus

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract The application of composted sewage sludge (CSS) in crop production offers a sustainable solution for nutrient recycling and reducing reliance on mineral fertilizers. This study evaluated the residual effects of CSS on phosphorus (P) bioavailability and agronomic performance of maize and cover crops in P‐fixing soils of the Brazilian Savannah (
