Repeatability, Genetic Variability and Importance of Forage Traits in Ecotypes of Brunswickgrass (Paspalum nicorae Parodi) via BLUP

open access: yesPlant Breeding, Volume 145, Issue 3, Page 561-574, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study estimated the repeatability of forage traits in 84 Paspalum nicorae ecotypes using six statistical methods and quantified the minimum number of harvests needed for effective selection. Multivariate analyses based on best linear unbiased prediction (BLUP) values were also performed to assess genetic variability, identify key traits ...

Broad Neutralizing Activity of Monoclonal Antibodies Against the Omicron Variants Isolated From Patients With Early Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus‐2

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Since its emergence in 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus‐2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) has caused a global pandemic driven by rapid mutation and high transmissibility. Current therapeutic strategies may not effectively address the continuously evolving mutant strains, underscoring the need for treatments with broad neutralizing activity ...

Can Phosphite Substitute for Phosphate in ptxD Rice? Evidence From Uptake and Agronomic Performance

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Engineering crops to metabolize phosphite (Phi) as a phosphorus (P) source has been reported as a promising strategy to enhance nutrient use efficiency and enable innovative crop management. Here, we evaluated rice (Oryza sativa L.) plants engineered with a codon‐optimized ptxD gene from Pseudomonas stutzeri for their capacity to utilize Phi ...

IgA Antibodies Reveal Covert Infection With Mpox Virus in People Living With HIV in the Community: A Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Survey

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study identified covert infection of MPXV among people living with HIV and MPXV‐IgA was the effective indicator. The combined use of two antigen protein set of MPXV (B6R plus E8L and E8L plus H3L) yield IgA test results comparable to those obtained with the MPXV.
