Counterexamples in Probabilistic Model Checking [PDF]
This paper considers algorithms for counterexample generation for (bounded) probabilistic reachability properties in fully probabilistic systems. Finding the strongest evidence (i.e, the most probable path) violating a (bounded) until-formula is shown to be reducible to a single-source (hop-constrained) shortest path problem.

In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

The use of ontological knowledge to improve classification results is a promising line of research. The availability of a probabilistic ontology raises the possibility of combining the probabilities coming from the ontology with the ones produced by a ...

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Probabilistic Models in Information Retrieval [PDF]
Summary: An introduction and survey over probabilistic information retrieval (IR) is given. First, the basic concepts of this approach are described: the probability-ranking principle shows that optimum retrieval quality can be achieved under certain assumptions; a conceptual model for IR along with the corresponding event clarify the interpretation of

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...
