Analytic neutrino oscillation probabilities
In the work, we derive exact analytic expressions for $(3+N)$-flavor neutrino oscillation probabilities in an arbitrary matter potential in term of matrix elements and eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian.

Entangled probability distributions [PDF]
Concept of entangled probability distribution of several random variables is introduced. These probability distributions describe multimode quantum states in probability representation of quantum mechanics. Example of entangled probability distribution is considered.

The mitochondrial outer membrane iron–sulphur ([Fe‐S]) protein mitoNEET is a target of the type‐2 diabetes drug pioglitazone. Its unknown molecular function is linked to respiratory complex activity and mitochondrial function. We discovered that O2 protects the mitoNEET [2Fe‐2S] cluster against NO oxidation and desensitization towards reduction by H2S.

Sensitivity of Bayesian Networks to Noise in Their Parameters
There is a widely spread belief in the Bayesian network (BN) community that the overall accuracy of results of BN inference is not too sensitive to the precision of their parameters.

A Note on Hidden Markov Models with Application to Criminal Intelligence
Hidden Markov Models (HMMs) which fall under the class of latent variable models have received widespread attention in many fields of applications. HMMs were initially developed and applied within the context of speech recognition.

Physical, subjective and analogical probability [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to show that the concept of probability is best understood by dividing this concept into two different types of probability, namely physical probability and analogical probability. Loosely speaking, a physical probability is a probability that applies to the outcomes of an experiment that have been judged as being equally ...

The glacier ice worm Mesenchytraeus solifugus survives year‐round at 0 °C. Its ATP6 subunit, which forms a regulatory component of the proton pore in mitochondrial ATP synthase, has a carboxy‐terminal extension not found in any other organism examined to date. Here, we show that fusion of this extension to the homologous AtpB protein in E. coli results

Learning Tuple Probabilities [PDF]
Learning the parameters of complex probabilistic-relational models from labeled training data is a standard technique in machine learning, which has been intensively studied in the subfield of Statistical Relational Learning (SRL), but---so far---this is

Generalized probabilities in statistical theories [PDF]
In this review article we present different formal frameworks for the description of generalized probabilities in statistical theories. We discuss the particular cases of probabilities appearing in classical and quantum mechanics, possible ...
