Dexamethasone Versus Placebo in Comatose Survivors of Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest: Study Protocol for a Multicenter Randomized Comparison Within the Danish Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest Trial (DANOHCA)

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 7, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The inflammatory response to whole‐body ischemia, as seen in comatose survivors after out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Early high‐dose dexamethasone may dampen the inflammatory response, which may diminish secondary brain damage and other organ injury and decrease mortality.

Kesesuaian Nilai C-Reactive Protein dan Procalcitonin dalam Diagnosis Pneumonia Berat pada Anak

open access: yesSari Pediatri, 2016
Latar belakang. Penyebab pneumonia sulit dibedakan berdasarkan klinis, radiologis, dan pemeriksaan darah rutin, sedangkan pemeriksaan biakan darah memerlukan waktu lama dengan hasil positif 10%-30% kasus.

Hubungan Eosinopenia dan Rasio Neutrofil/Limfosit dengan Procalcitonin pada Pasien Sepsis

open access: yesJurnal Kesehatan Andalas, 2020

Plasma procalcitonin in rheumatic diseases

open access: yes, 2003
Data on the origin and biological function of procalcitonin, the pro-hormone of calcitonin, are scarce. Since this peptide can be induced in bacterial invasive infections, serum procalcitonin levels may be useful in differential diagnosis of systemic ...

Polymyxin B Intravenous Administration Strategy Guided by Minimum Inhibitory Concentration in Critically Ill Patients With Pulmonary Infection: Insights From PBPK Modeling

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
PBPK/PD modeling and clinical retrospective validation of intravenous polymyxin B in critically ill patients with pulmonary infection. ABSTRACT Intravenous polymyxin B (PMB) is widely used for treating drug‐resistant gram‐negative pneumonia, though its efficacy in pulmonary infections is considered limited.

Elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein combined with procalcitonin predicts high risk of contrast-induced nephropathy after percutaneous coronary intervention

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2019
Background Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is common after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and always leads to a poor prognosis. Compared with conventional detection methods, either high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) or ...

Canine Procalcitonin Messenger RNA Expression

open access: yes, 2008
Procalcitonin is considered an acute phase protein used as both a marker of infection and prognosis in human medicine. Canine procalcitonin has been previously sequenced; however, its use as a diagnostic or prognostic tool in dogs has never been ...

Hypertransaminasemia Is a Marker of Severity in Children Hospitalized for Influenza

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Elevated transaminases have been associated with increased severity in adult influenza cases, but data in the pediatric population are limited. This study aims to evaluate the prevalence, clinical characteristics and prognostic value of elevated transaminases in children hospitalized for influenza.

MEASUREMENT OF PROCALCITONIN IN THE CEREBROSPINAL FLUID FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS IN CHILDREN WITH MENINGITIS

open access: yesAlʹmanah Kliničeskoj Mediciny, 2016
Background: High production of pro-inflammatory cytokines associated with procalcitonin synthesis  and  its increased  blood  levels play an important role in the pathophysiology of systemic inflammation  in generalized  bacterial  infections.
