The effects of systematic sampling and temporal aggregation on discrete time long memory processes and their finite sample properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This study investigates the effects of varying sampling intervals on the long memory characteristics of certain stochastic processes. We find that although different sampling intervals do not affect the decay rate of discrete time long memory ...

Memory strength and the decision process in recognition memory [PDF]

open access: yesMemory & Cognition, 2007
We investigated the role that memory strength plays in the decision process by examining the extent to which strength is used as a cue to dynamically modify recognition criteria. The study list consisted of strong and weak items, with strength a function of study duration or repetition. The recognition test list was divided into two consecutive blocks;

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Testing Fractional Order of Long Memory Processes: A Monte Carlo Study [PDF]

open access: yes
Testing the fractionally integrated order of seasonal and nonseasonal unit roots is quite important for the economic and financial time series modeling. In this article, the widely used Robinson's (1994) test is applied to various well-known long memory ...

Stochastic processes crossing from ballistic to fractional diffusion with memory: exact results

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2010
We address the now classical problem of a diffusion process that crosses over from a ballistic behavior at short times to a fractional diffusion (sub- or super-diffusion) at longer times. Using the standard non-Markovian diffusion equation we demonstrate

BAIAP2 is related to emotional modulation of human memory strength. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Memory performance is the result of many distinct mental processes, such as memory encoding, forgetting, and modulation of memory strength by emotional arousal.

Processing-in-Memory for Genomics Workloads

open access: yesIEEE Micro
Low-cost, high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing (HTS) data is the backbone of the life sciences. Genome sequencing is now becoming a part of Predictive, Preventive, Personalized, and Participatory (termed 'P4') medicine. All genomic data are currently processed in energy-hungry computer clusters and centers, necessitating data transfer, consuming ...

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.
