Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Determination of Erucamide Slip Additive in Polypropylene Masterbatch: Comparison of Soxhlet and Dissolution-Precipitation Method [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Chemistry Research
Erucamide is a long-chain carboxylic acid amide used as a slip agent in plastic films. In this research, the slip additive in polypropylene masterbatch with 6% erucamide content was extracted by comparing two methods which are dissolution-precipitation ...

On-column disulfide bond formation of monoclonal antibodies during Protein A chromatography eliminates low molecular weight species and rescues reduced antibodies

open access: yesmAbs, 2020
Disulfide bond reduction, which commonly occurs during monoclonal antibody (mAb) manufacturing processes, can result in a drug substance with high levels of low molecular weight (LMW) species that may fail release specifications because the drug’s safety

"Product Complexity and Economic Development" [PDF]

open access: yes
We rank 5,107 products and 124 countries according to the Hidalgo and Hausmann (2009) measures of complexity. We find that: (1) the most complex products are in machinery, chemicals, and metals, while the least complex products are raw materials and ...

Towards Product Lining Model-Driven Development Code Generators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A code generator systematically transforms compact models to detailed code. Today, code generation is regarded as an integral part of model-driven development (MDD).

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Characterizing the development of sectoral Gross Domestic Product composition

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the sectoral composition of a country's GDP, i.e. the partitioning into agrarian, industrial, and service sectors. Exploring a simple system of differential equations we characterize the transfer of GDP shares between the sectors in the ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
