Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

On Generalized Upper(k)Record Values From Weibull Distribution

open access: yesStatistica, 2015
In this paper we study the generalized upper(k)record values arising from Weibull distribution. Expressions for the moments and product moments of those generalized upper(k)record values  are derived.

Statistical Moments Analysis of Production and Profits in Multi-Product Cournot Oligopoly [PDF]

open access: yes
Our context involves N firms producing M products at constant marginal costs, and behaving as Cournot oligopolists. When preferences are quasi-linear, we study the relationships between second moments of unit costs and second moments of firm-level ...

Multidimensional Gaussian sums arising from distribution of Birkhoff sums in zero entropy dynamical systems

open access: yes, 2004
A duality formula, of the Hardy and Littlewood type for multidimensional Gaussian sums, is proved in order to estimate the asymptotic long time behavior of distribution of Birkhoff sums $S_n$ of a sequence generated by a skew product dynamical system on ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

On the Theory of Order Statistics of the Flexible Lomax Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesOperations Research and Decisions
This paper studies the flexible Lomax distribution's order statistics with graphical and numerical findings. Along with the quantitative measurements, some plots are furnished, including those for the skewness and kurtosis measures.

Moments on quadratic binomial products

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 2017
From the author's abstract: ``We prove a general transformation theorem that expresses the moments on quadratic products of binomial coefficients as linear sums of their four initial values. Sixteen summation formulae are presented explicitly as examples. They contain, as special cases, the previous results due to \textit{X.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

ChPT parameters from tau-decay data

open access: yes, 2015
Using the updated ALEPH V-A spectral function from tau decays, we determine the lowest spectral moments of the left-right correlator and extract dynamical information on order parameters of the QCD chiral symmetry breaking.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
