Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Factor Temporal Prognosis of Tick-Borne Encephalitis Foci Functioning on the South of Russian Far East [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
A method of temporal factor prognosis of TE (tick-borne encephalitis) infection has been developed. The high precision of the prognosis results for a number of geographical regions of Primorsky Krai has been achieved. The method can be applied not only to epidemiological research but also to others.

Evidence on Prognosis [PDF]

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2013
In the clinical decision-making process, prognostic information gives physicians guidance regarding disease and treatment that can be passed along to patients. Using the clinical scenario of a type IIIB open tibial fracture as an example, this article focuses on how to search prognostic literature effectively and how to critically appraise prognostic ...

Liver Cancer Cell of Origin, Molecular Class, and Effects on Patient Prognosis.

open access: yesGastroenterology, 2017
Primary liver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide and therefore a major public health challenge. We review hypotheses of the cell of origin of liver tumorigenesis and clarify the classes of liver cancer based on molecular

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

An Ensemble Approach for Patient Prognosis of Head and Neck Tumor Using Multimodal Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Accurate prognosis of a tumor can help doctors provide a proper course of treatment and, therefore, save the lives of many. Traditional machine learning algorithms have been eminently useful in crafting prognostic models in the last few decades.
