Clinicopathological features of programmed cell death-ligand 1 expression in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yes, 2020
Programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression has been shown to play important roles in various types of cancer. However, the role of PD-L1 expression has not been conclusively reported in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC ...

From Cell‐Derived Vesicles to Hybrid Nanovectors: Biological Membranes as Functional Blueprints for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biologically derived and hybrid nonviral nanovectors are examined as distinct but convergent design approaches. Integrating synthetic components with biologically functionalized membranes allows efficient interactions with complex cellular environments.

Comparison of programmed death ligand-1 expression in preoperative transbronchial lung biopsy and resected specimens in non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology
Purpose Programmed death-ligand 1 expression is heterogeneous in non-small cell lung cancer, and small specimens may not accurately represent the entire tumor. The current study investigated the discordance in programmed death-ligand 1 expression between

Near‐Infrared Light‐Activated Polydopamine Nanoparticles Conjugated With Transferrin Peptides for Enhanced Brain Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Tf‐PDA NPs combine a receptor‐mediated targeting with mild photothermal activation to enhance nanoparticle accumulation in the brain. NIR‐activated Tf‐PDA NPs increase BBB permeability to NPs in vitro and in vivo without inducing cytotoxicity or adverse immune responses.

Tocilizumab for Steroid Pulse-Refractory Cytokine Release Syndrome in Chemotherapy With Durvalumab Plus Tremelimumab for NSCLC: A Case Report

open access: yesJTO Clinical and Research Reports
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have dramatically improved the prognosis of NSCLC. However, various immune-related adverse events (irAEs) have been reported. Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is an irAE that is occasionally severe and life-threatening. CRS is

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.

Metal–Organic Framework‐Preserved Thermostable Microneedle Patch for Minimally Invasive Detection and Monitoring of Kidney Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By growing a conformal ZIF‐8 protective layer directly on antibody‐functionalized microneedles, this work converts a fragile biosensing interface into a thermostable diagnostic platform. The MOF@MN patch enables minimally invasive NGAL detection from dermal ISF while supporting cold‐chain‐independent storage and transport for decentralized kidney ...
