Differential Requirement for CD70 and CD80/CD86 in Dendritic Cellmediated Activation of Tumor Tolerized CD8 T Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A major obstacle to efficacious T cell-based cancer immunotherapy is the tolerizing-tumor microenvironment that rapidly inactivates tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes.

Prevalence of programmed death ligand-1 in patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in Lebanon

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine, 2021
Introduction: Programmed death ligand-1 expression has been shown to be a good predictor of response to cancer therapy with checkpoint inhibitors. Its expression varies among different tumor types and among non-small cell lung cancer patients with ...

PD-L1 Co-Stimulation Contributes to Ligand-Induced T Cell Receptor Down-Modulation on \(CD8^+\) T Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
T cell receptor (TCR) down-modulation after antigen presentation is a fundamental process that regulates TCR signal transduction. Current understanding of this process is that intrinsic TCR/CD28 signal transduction leads to TCR down-modulation.

Catching up with solid tumor oncology: what is the evidence for a prognostic role of programmed cell death-ligand 1/programmed cell death-1 expression in B-cell lymphomas?

open access: yesHaematologica, 2016
Therapeutic strategies targeting the programmed cell death-ligand 1/programmed cell death-1 pathway have shown significant responses and good tolerability in solid malignancies.

Expression of programmed death ligand 1 in drug-resistant osteosarcoma: An exploratory study

open access: yesSurgery Open Science, 2021
Background: Inhibition of the programmed death ligand 1, programmed death 1 pathway has been successfully used for treatment of multiple advanced adult cancers. However, its use in pediatric osteosarcoma is still in its infancy.

Characterizing the immune microenvironment of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor by PD-L1 expression and presence of CD8+ tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BackgroundMalignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is an aggressive sarcoma with few treatment options. Tumor immune state has not been characterized in MPNST, and is important in determining response to immune checkpoint blockade.

A critical role for the programmed death ligand 1 in fetomaternal tolerance [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 2005
Fetal survival during gestation implies that tolerance mechanisms suppress the maternal immune response to paternally inherited alloantigens. Here we show that the inhibitory T cell costimulatory molecule, programmed death ligand 1 (PDL1), has an important role in conferring fetomaternal tolerance in an allogeneic pregnancy model.

The Expression Levels and Concentrations of PD-1 and PD-L1 Proteins in Septic Patients: A Systematic Review

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
Sepsis is a series of life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by an impaired host response to infection. A large number of molecular studies of sepsis have revealed complex interactions between infectious agents and hosts that result in heterogeneous ...

Phase II Trial of IL-12 Plasmid Transfection and PD-1 Blockade in Immunologically Quiescent Melanoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
PurposeTumors with low frequencies of checkpoint positive tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (cpTIL) have a low likelihood of response to PD-1 blockade.

PD-1 Inhibitory Receptor Downregulates Asparaginyl Endopeptidase and Maintains Foxp3 Transcription Factor Stability in Induced Regulatory T Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
CD4+ T cell differentiation into multiple T helper (Th) cell lineages is critical for optimal adaptive immune responses. This report identifies an intrinsic mechanism by which programmed death-1 receptor (PD-1) signaling imparted regulatory phenotype to ...
