Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Clinicopathological features of thymoma with the expression of programmed death-ligand 1 [PDF]
Programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is reportedly expressed in various malignancies and is considered a prognostic factor. We attempted to reveal the usefulness of the PD-L1 expression as a prognostic factor in patients with thymoma.Eighty-one patients with thymoma who underwent surgical resection between 2004 and 2015 were retrospectively reviewed.

Interactions of Tumor Necrosis Factor–Related Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand (TRAIL) with the Immune System: Implications for Inflammation and Cancer [PDF]
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a member of the TNF superfamily. TRAIL has historically been distinct from the Fas ligand and TNFα in terms of selective apoptosis induction in tumor cells and has a nearly non ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Programmed Death-1 and Programmed Death-Ligand 1 Expression Patterns in Pediatric Lymphoma
Abstract Introduction The programmed death-1 (PD-1)-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) pathway is an inhibitory immune checkpoint that can suppress T-cell-mediated tumor cytotoxicity. Anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibodies have recently been recognized as promising therapy for adult patients with lymphoma, particularly in ...

Quantitative assessment of cell fate decision between autophagy and apoptosis [PDF]
Autophagy and apoptosis are cellular processes that regulate cell survival and death, the former by eliminating dysfunctional components in the cell, the latter by programmed cell death.

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Structural and biochemical insights of CypA and AIF interaction [PDF]
The Cyclophilin A (CypA)/Apoptosis Inducing Factor (AIF) complex is implicated in the DNA degradation in response to various cellular stress conditions, such as oxidative stress, cerebral hypoxia-ischemia and traumatic brain injury.

This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...
