Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

THE KINEMATICS PARAMETERS OF THE GALAXY USING DATA OF MODERN ASTROMETRIC CATALOGUES

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2016
Based on the Ogorodnikov-Milne model, we analyze the proper motions of XPM2, UCAC4 and PPMXL stars. To estimate distances to the stars we used the method of statistical parallaxes herewith the random errors of the distance estimations do not exceed 10 ...

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

Revista Mexicana de Astronoma y Astrofsica, 38, 61--69 (2002)

open access: yes, 2007
We compare high angular resolution VLA 3.6-cm continuum observations of the protostellar system IRAS 16293--2422 obtained in 1989 and 1994, and show that the positions of the three VLA sources in IRAS 16293--2422 have changed significantly between the

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Proper motions of radiative knots in simulations of stellar jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Aims.Elongated jets from young stellar objects typically present a nodular structure, formed by a chain of bright knots of enhanced emission with individual proper motions.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

The HST–Gaia Near-infrared Astrometric Reference Frame Near the Milky Way Galactic Center

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the first high-precision proper-motion catalog, tied to the International Celestial Reference System (ICRS), of infrared astrometric reference stars within R ≤ 25″ (1 pc) of the central supermassive black hole at the Galactic center (GC). This

Determination of the proper motions and membership of the globular cluster M3 and of its orbit in the galaxy

open access: yes, 2002
We examine 14 plates of the globular cluster M3 (NGC 5272) taken with the 40 cm refractor at the Sheshan station of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory. The plates span over a period of about 77 years.

Vertical velocities from proper motions of red clump giants

open access: yes, 2014
Aims. We derive the vertical velocities of disk stars in the range of Galactocentric radii of R = 5 − 16 kpc within 2 kpc in height from the Galactic plane.
