Regional distribution of the prostaglandin E2 receptor EP1 in the rat brain: accumulation in Purkinje cells of the cerebellum [PDF]
Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), is a major prostanoid produced by the activity of cyclooxygenases (COX) in response to various physiological and pathological stimuli. PGE2 exerts its effects by activating four specific E-type prostanoid receptors (EP1, EP2, EP3

Current Knowledge and Attitudes Concerning Cost-Effectiveness in Glaucoma Pharmacotherapy: A Glaucoma Specialists Focus Group Study. [PDF]
Background:Rising healthcare costs motivate continued cost-reduction efforts. To help lower costs associated with open-angle glaucoma (OAG), a prevalent, progressive disease with substantial direct and indirect costs, clinicians need to understand the ...

Maternal recognition of pregnancy in the horse : are MicroRNAs the secret messengers? [PDF]
The signal for maternal recognition of pregnancy (MRP) has still not been identified in the horse. High-throughput molecular biology at the embryo-maternal interface has substantially contributed to the knowledge on pathways affected during MRP, but an ...

Biosynthesis of Prostaglandins [PDF]
Highly purified cyclooxygenase from sheep vesicular glands is stimulated by the presence of protoporphyrin IX compounds. This stimulation may be due to the conversion of an apoenzyme to the holoenzyme, and full activity is achieved when half of the enzyme subunits (70,000 daltons) bind heme.

Immunomodulatory metal‐phenolic microcapsules (mMPMs) is developed in this study that leverages dopamine‐modified hyaluronic acid and FeIII assemble on mannose‐glycated bovine serum albumin microbubbles. mMPMs effectively promote macrophage internalization and M1 polarization, enhancing pro‐inflammatory responses.

Wide therapeutic time window for nimesulide neuroprotection in a model of transient focal cerebral ischemia in the rat [PDF]
Results from several studies indicate that cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is involved in ischemic brain injury. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the neuroprotective effects of the selective COX-2 inhibitor nimesulide on cerebral infarction and neurological deficits in a standardized model of transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats.

Obesity-induced changes in lipid mediators persist after weight loss. [PDF]
BackgroundObesity induces significant changes in lipid mediators, however, the extent to which these changes persist after weight loss has not been investigated.Subjects/methodsWe fed C57BL6 mice a high-fat diet to generate obesity and then switched the ...

This study uncovers the activation, heterogeneity, and regulatory roles of pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) at single‐cell and spatial levels. It further identifies PLXDC1+ PSCs near aggressive LRRC15+ cancer‐associated myofibroblasts and SPP1+ macrophages, forming a desmoplastic and immunosuppressive tumor niche that promotes CD8+ T cell exhaustion ...
