Used in search of novel allosteric sites in the serine/threonine kinase p38α, NMR spectroscopy reveals a dynamic coupling between the catalytic and lipid pockets. The findings uncover a motional interdependence that links distant regions of the enzyme, highlighting the lipid pocket as a promising site for allosteric intervention.

More Than a Buffer in Biochemistry: Tris as an Architect and Gatekeeper of Metal–Oxo Assembly
Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane, depicted as an octopus, acts as an alkoxy ligand, chelator, and structure‐directing buffer that programs polyoxometalate's speciation, nucleation, and heterometal insertion in aqueous solution. ABSTRACT Polyoxometalates (POMs, molecular metal–oxo clusters) are typically studied and applied in aqueous media, where ...

Neutron Protein Crystallography
The structure-function relationship of proteins is dominated by the behavior of hydrogen atoms. Neutron diffraction provides an experimental method of directly locating hydrogen atoms. We have constructed the diffractometer (BIX) dedicated for the neutron crystallography in biology at JRR-3M in Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute.

A Multiepitope‐Based Lateral Flow Assay for Leprosy Antibodies
An innovative lateral flow assay for leprosy diagnosis is based on gold nanoparticles and synthetic Mycobacterium leprae epitopes conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin protein to enhance antibody detection. This strategy provides a rapid, accurate, and low‐cost approach for resource‐limited settings, enabling the early detection of infection. Leprosy

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) combined with thermodynamic modeling provides the first direct characterization of radium speciation in synthetic gastrointestinal biofluids. Free Ra2+ ions predominate with minimal protein binding and negligible EDTA complexation. Crown ethers enable effective Ra complexation.

Bacterial carboxyl-terminal processing proteases (CTPs) are essential for protein quality control, signal transduction, and cell adaptation. Typically, activation of CTPs involves substrate binding to the PDZ domain or an adaptor protein.
