Matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors
Metalloproteinase was discovered by Gross and Lapierre in 1962 for the first time. Since then, more than 20 enzymes of this family have been characterized, and their functions have been studied in detail.

EFFECT OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES IN EXPERIMENTAL PERITONITIS
In our research we have investigated the effect of intraperitoneal introduction of silver nanoparticles solution (linear particle size of 10–20 nm) into intact animals and in the simulation of experimental peritonitis.

Profile of Matrix-Remodeling Proteinases in Osteoarthritis: Impact of Fibronectin
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a complex and specialized three-dimensional macromolecular network, present in nearly all tissues, that also interacts with cell surface receptors on joint resident cells.

Pathogenetic role of proteinase-inhibitor system in the development of local and systemic pathology
The experimental and clinical research of nonspecific proteinase-inhibitor system components role in pathogenesis of inflammation and ischemia-reperfusion syndrome on the level of organism and on organ level was conducted. Common mechanisms of changes

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Anti-Candida Activity of Geraniol: Effect on Hydrolytic Enzyme Secretion and Biofilm Formation
Existing antifungal drugs available today are low in efficacy, high in toxicity and cause multidrug resistance. Anti-Candida potential of geraniol, an acyclic monoterpene alcohol was evaluated and secretion of hydrolytic enzymes, adherence and biofilm ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

The role of proteinase enzymes in the process of conversion of muscle to meat [PDF]
Post mortem meat tenderization is a complex mechanism and unfortunately it has not been fully identified scientifically. It is known that endogenous proteinases have an important role in this mechanism.
