Proteome Wide Association Studies of LRRK2 variants identify novel causal and druggable for Parkinson’s disease

2023
AbstractCommon and rare variants in theLRRK2locus are associated with Parkinson’s disease (PD) risk, but the downstream effects of these variants on protein levels remains unknown. We performed comprehensive proteogenomic analyses using the largest aptamer-based CSF proteomics study to date (7,006 aptamers (6,138 unique proteins) in 3,107 individuals).

Abstract 1716: A proteome-wide association study identifies putative causal proteins for breast cancer

Cancer Research
Abstract Background: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified over 200 breast cancer risk associated genetic loci, yet the causal genes and biological mechanisms for most loci remain elusive. Proteins, as final gene products, are pivotal in cellular function.

Blood Plasma Proteome-Wide Association Study Implicates New Proteins in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Pathogenesis

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism
Abstract The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remain incompletely understood, and the disease continues to impose a substantial burden on global health. In this study, we integrated the data from the largest genome-wide association study (GWAS; N = 898 130) of T2DM with human plasma protein ...
