The effects of solvents on chemical phenomena is complex because there are various solute-solvent interaction mechanisms. Solvatochromism refers to the effects of solvents on the spectra of probes. The study of this phenomenon sheds light on the relative

The Role of Ionic Liquids at the Biological Interfaces in Bioelectronics
Ionic liquids (ILs) are highlighted as key artificial ionic materials that bridge biological ion‐based signaling and electronic devices. By understanding their composition, structure, function relationships, and mechanisms, ILs can advance from high performance electrolyte to core materials enabling integrated, multifunctional bioelectronics for ...

Aqueous lithium‐ion storage has been demonstrated using a hierarchically assembled hydrogenated borophene/cobalt‐nickel compound as a supercapattery electrode. Reducible hydrogenated borophene generates undercoordinated oxygen, which is redox‐active for lithiation and hydrogenation during the discharging process following the lithium hydroxide ...

Synthesis and fluorosolvatochromism of 3-arylnaphtho[1,2-b]quinolizinium derivatives
Cationic biaryl derivatives were synthesized by Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of 3-bromonaphtho[1,2-b]quinolizinium bromide with arylboronic acids. The resulting cationic biaryl derivatives exhibit pronounced fluorosolvatochromic properties.

The influence of mixed solvents volatility on charge state distribution of peptides during positive electrospray ionization mass spectrometry [PDF]
Understanding the mechanisms that control and concentrate the observed electrospray ionisation (ESI) response from peptides is important. Controlling these mechanisms can improve signal-to-noise ratio in the mass spectrum, and enhances the generation of ...

This work establishes a correlation between solvent properties and the charge transport performance of solution‐processed organic thin films through interpretable machine learning. Strong dispersion interactions (δD), moderate hydrogen bonding (δH), closely matching and compatible with the solute (quadruple thiophene), and a small molar volume (MolVol)
