Nickel Foam Electrodes—A Versatile, Powerful, and Readily Available Tool in Electro‐Organic Synthesis

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
Nickel foam—one material, two faces, and several versatile roles depending on electrolytic conditions. For more than 50 years, nickel foam electrodes have served in electrosynthesis as powerful and readily available electrode materials. Due to their inexpensive nature and easy handling, they have been widely employed.

Gepta‐EX: a multi‐channel germanium detector for X‐ray absorption fine structure

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
Gepta‐EX is a compact seven‐channel high‐purity germanium detector designed to deliver high‐resolution fluorescence X‐ray absorption fine‐structure measurements at photon energies where silicon detectors become effectively transparent. It provides excellent energy resolution across a broad energy range, avoids silicon escape‐peak artifacts, and offers ...

The key role of the medium in the reductive cleavage of RX bonds at catalytic and non-catalytic electrodes: from aprotic and protic traditional solvents to ionic liquids

open access: yes, 2013
In the last years we have shown how the electrocatalytic cleavage of carbonhalogen bonds is modulated by (a) the stepwise or concerted nature of the DET mechanism (as a function of the electrode surface, of the nature of the halogen atom, and of the ...

Development of chalcones structure‐related to avobenzone: Photoprotection, photostability, and safety evaluation

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Scaffold hopping strategy used to develop chalcones structure‐related to the avobenzone tautomer. Positive aspects of 2‐hydroxychalcones are highlighted. Abstract Chalcones are α,β‐unsaturated ketones with extended π‐conjugation, making them promising scaffolds for the development of organic UV filters.

A Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Biradical in the Gas Phase

open access: yesJournal of Physical Organic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 7, July 2026.
Hydrogen‐bonded dimers of the TEMPOL radical are investigated by vibrational spectroscopy in the gas phase and shown to occur in at least two conformations, a stretched one with a strong hydrogen bond to the radical centre and a bent one with more pronounced London dispersion interactions. ABSTRACT Persistent organic radicals from the TEMPO family such
