Furfuryl Alcohol‐Driven Proton Supply Enables Efficient Photocatalytic H2O2 Production Beyond Water‐Based Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ZnIn2S4–carbon dot heterojunction enables photocatalytic H2O2 production coupled with furfuryl alcohol oxidation. In this redox system, furfuryl alcohol acts as both the electron donor and oxidation substrate, producing furoic acid with 100% selectivity and 98% conversion while supporting efficient H2O2 generation with a solar‐to‐chemical conversion (

Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.

Fabrication of Composite Cathode for All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The design of composite cathodes for all‐solid‐state sodium batteries must address three critical challenges—interfacial side reactions, interfacial delamination, and highly tortuous transport pathways. This work outlines structural and interfacial strategies to optimize ion transport and mechanical stability, enabling durable, and high‐performance ...

Interpretable Machine Learning for Solvent‐Dependent Carrier Mobility in Solution‐Processed Organic Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work establishes a correlation between solvent properties and the charge transport performance of solution‐processed organic thin films through interpretable machine learning. Strong dispersion interactions (δD), moderate hydrogen bonding (δH), closely matching and compatible with the solute (quadruple thiophene), and a small molar volume (MolVol)

Dissociation constants of some substituted cinnamic acids in protic solvents: measurements by hyper-Rayleigh scattering and potentiometric techniques

open access: yes, 1996
Recently, we have demonstrated [J. Phys. Chem. 99 (1995) 17891] that dissociation constants of weak organic acids in protic solvents can be measured by the recently revived hyper-Rayleigh scattering technique.

Ultrafast Excited-State Dynamics of Hydrogen-Bonded Cytosine Microsolvated Clusters with Protic and Aprotic Polar Solvents

open access: yes, 2018
Microsolvation effects on the ultrafast excited-state deactivation dynamics of cytosine (Cy) were studied in hydrogen-bonded Cy clusters with protic and aprotic solvents using mass-resolved femtosecond pump–probe ionization spectroscopy.

Dissociation constants of weak organic acids in protic solvents obtained from their first hyperpolarizabilities in solution

open access: yes, 1995
The first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) of some weak aromatic organic acids have been measured in protic solvents by the hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) technique at low concentrations.

Effect of Polar Protic and Polar Aprotic Solvents on Negative-Ion Electrospray Ionization and Chromatographic Separation of Small Acidic Molecules

open access: yes, 2016
A comprehensive study investigated the effect of polar protic (methanol and water) and polar aprotic (acetonitrile and acetone) solvents on the chromatographic separation and negative-ion electrospray (ESI) response of 49 diverse small, acidic molecules.
