Targeting RTK signaling pathways in cancer [PDF]
The RAS/MAP kinase and the RAS/PI3K/AKT pathways play a key role in the regulation of proliferation, differentiation and survival. The induction of these pathways depends on Receptor Tyrosine Kinases (RTKs) that are activated upon ligand binding.

Binding of anisotropic curvature-inducing proteins onto membrane tubes [PDF]
Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs superfamily proteins and other curvature-inducing proteins have anisotropic shapes and anisotropically bend biomembrane. Here, we report how the anisotropic proteins bind the membrane tube and are orientationally ordered using mean-field theory including an orientation-dependent excluded volume.

Synergistic antitumour activity of RAF265 and ZSTK474 on human TT medullary thyroid cancer cells [PDF]
Medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) is an aggressive malignancy responsible for up to 14% of all thyroid cancer-related deaths. It is characterized by point mutations in the rearranged during transfection (RET) proto-oncogene.

Risk factors analysis for BRAF gene V600E mutation in patients with infiltrative follicular papillary thyroid carcinoma [PDF]
Objective To investigate the risk factors for BRAF gene V600E mutation in patients with infiltrative follicular papillary thyroid carcinoma (IF-PTC). Methods A total of 134 patients with IF-PTC who underwent surgical treatment in our hospital from August

Curvature sensing of curvature-inducing proteins with internal structure [PDF]
Many types of peripheral and transmembrane proteins can sense and generate membrane curvature. Laterally isotropic proteins and crescent proteins with twofold rotational symmetry, such as Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs superfamily proteins, have been studied theoretically. However, proteins often have an asymmetric structure or a higher rotational symmetry.

An approach for the identification of targets specific to bone metastasis using cancer genes interactome and gene ontology analysis [PDF]
Metastasis is one of the most enigmatic aspects of cancer pathogenesis and is a major cause of cancer-associated mortality. Secondary bone cancer (SBC) is a complex disease caused by metastasis of tumor cells from their primary site and is characterized ...

Molecular docking investigation of cytotoxic phenanthrene derivatives
Our previous experimental work indicated that the presence of ester functionality in phenanthrene derivatives D-1 and D-2 leads to potent cytotoxicity against the Caco-2 cell line. The present work is based on th-is experimental result.
