Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

The benefits--and limits-- of PPIs with warfarin regimens [PDF]
Patients on warfarin + antiplatelet/NSAID regimens are likely to benefit from the gastroprotective effect of PPIs. For patients taking warfarin alone, it's a different story.

Chiral Nanohoops as an Efficient Spin Polarization System
Chiral conjugated nanohoops with a central dibenzopentalene unit exhibit 90% spin polarization at low voltage and high conductivity. These properties make them ideal components in molecular spintronics applications. Abstract A central challenge in molecular spintronics is to achieve a high spin polarization at low operating voltages and ambient ...

The impact of drug-drug interactions between proton pump inhibitors and metformin: A systematic review of clinical evidence [PDF]
Metformin, a substrate of the organic cation transporters, is commonly co-prescribed with proton pump inhibitors, which inhibits these transporters. However, the clinical significance of this potential drug-drug interaction remains unclear.
