Insights into Interfacial Proton Transport in Protonic Ceramic Conductors
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2021Understanding the mechanism of proton conduction at the interface of materials enables the development of a new generation of protonic ceramic conductors at low temperatures (< 300 °C) through water absorption and proton transport on the interface.

Space Proton Transport in One Dimension
Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1994An approximate evaluation procedure is derived for a second-order theory of coupled nucleon transport in one dimension. An analytical solution with a simplified interaction model is used to determine quadrature parameters to minimize truncation error.

Regulation of Proton Transport in Urinary Epithelia
Journal of Experimental Biology, 1983Abstract In urinary epithelia, like the turtle bladder, protons are transported by a H+-trans locating ATPase located in the luminal membrane. We have recently discovered that the H+ pump is stored in small vesicles that lie underneath the luminal membrane.

Histone Inhibition of Mitochondrial Proton Transport
Archives Internationales de Physiologie et de Biochimie, 1978Histone blocks proton uptake by mitochondria incubated in the presence of valinomycin or DNP. In the presence of DNP valinomycin-induced H+ uptake is not affected by histone. H+ uptake induced by nigericin is not affected by histone as well. Postulated mechanism of histone action involves the immobilization of proton translocation in mitochondrial ...

Proton transport at the monolayer-water interface
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1991It is shown that when monolayers of stearic acid, palmitic acid, DPPC, or DPPS are compressed above some critical area Ac a lateral conduction mechanism is initiated at the monolayer/water interface. The interfacial conductance increases on further increasing the molecular packing density in the monolayer.

Solvate‐Supported Proton Transport in Zeolites
ChemPhysChem, 2004AbstractSolvate‐supported proton transport in zeolite H‐ZSM‐5 was studied by means of complex impedance spectroscopy. The zeolite shows enhanced proton mobility in the presence of NH3 and H2O that depends on the concentration of the solvate molecule, temperature (298–773 K), and the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of the zeolite (30–1000).

Electrogenic proton transport in epithelial membranes
The Journal of Membrane Biology, 1982Certain polar epithelial cells have strong transport capacities for protons and can be examined in vitro as part of an intact epithelial preparation. Recent studies in the isolated turtle bladder and other tight urinary epithelial indicate that the apical membranes of the carbonic anhydrase-containing cell population of these tissues contain an ...

2010
In this chapter we will review the recent developments in simulating and modelling proton transport. We will put a special emphasis on studies employing classical and quantum molecular-dynamics simulations, but also include basic studies that have focussed on model systems using accurate quantum-chemical methods.

Mesoscale Simulation of Proton Transport in Proton Exchange Membranes
The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2012Previous efforts to model proton transport through fuel cell membranes have largely focused on disparate length scales: molecular dynamics at the atomistic level and fuel cell stack engineering app...
