Vibrational Förster transfer to hydrated protons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have studied the influence of excess protons on the vibrational energy relaxation of the O-H and O-D stretching modes in water using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy.

Adjuvant Proton Beam Radiation Therapy for Sinonasal Mucosal Melanoma

open access: yesCancer Reports
Background Head and neck mucosal melanoma (HNMM) is rare and carries a poor prognosis with high rates of disease progression. There is little data regarding the use of adjuvant proton radiation therapy in the management of sinonasal HNMM.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Interfacial Modulation for High‐Efficiency Large‐Area Organic Photovoltaics and Perovskite‐Organic Tandem Solar Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) are promising hole‐transporting materials for organic photovoltaics (OPVs), but suffer from self‐aggregation and poor large‐area uniformity. We find that interfacial modification using nicotinic hydrazide can eliminate the residual SAM aggregates by forming energetically favorable complexes, yielding uniform SAM.

Coupled-channel analyses of the inelastic scattering of 80-160-MeV protons by 40Ca, 90Zr and 208Pb

open access: yes, 1980
A modified version of the coupled-channel computer code CHUCK has been employed to calculate theoretical angular distributions for the inelastic scattering protons by 40 Ca, 90Zr, and 208Pb.

Amide Proton Transfer Imaging in Clinics: Basic Concepts and Current and Future Use in Brain Tumors and Stroke

open access: yes대한영상의학회지, 2016
Amide proton transfer (APT) imaging is gaining attention as a relatively new in vivo molecular imaging technique that has higher sensitivity and spatial resolution than magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging.

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...
