Empagliflozin does not prevent progression of Dent's disease type 1 in a mouse model
Abstract Dent's disease is a rare inherited renal disorder characterized by generalized proximal tubule dysfunction with low molecular weight proteinuria, hypercalciuria, and urinary loss of other solutes. The disease is progressive and leads to chronic kidney disease.

Ouabain‐induced hypertension in rats: Mechanisms, variability and translational implications
Abstract Ouabain‐induced hypertension is a multifactorial and condition‐dependent phenomenon involving coordinated actions across vascular, renal and central nervous system pathways. At the vascular level, ouabain inhibits Na⁺/K⁺‐ATPase, particularly the α2‐isoform, leading to elevated intracellular Ca2⁺, enhanced vasoconstriction and structural ...

The synaptic vesicle cluster as a controller of pre‐ and postsynaptic structure and function
Abstract figure legend The synaptic vesicle cluster acts as a master regulator of synaptic structure and function, through various involvements in processes that range from synaptic initiation to plasticity and synaptic loss. Abstract The synaptic vesicle cluster (SVC) is an essential component of chemical synapses, which provides neurotransmitter ...

Biogenesis and reformation of synaptic vesicles
Abstract figure legend Synaptic vesicle proteins are axonally transported in precursor vesicles (PVs) before conversion into mature synaptic vesicles (SVs) that are reformed by local recycling at synapses. Abstract Communication within the nervous system relies on the calcium‐triggered release of neurotransmitter molecules by exocytosis of synaptic ...

Inhibition of ErbB2 mitigates secondary denervation after traumatic muscle injury
Abstract figure legend Our study evaluated the therapeutic potential of ErbB2 inhibition (Herceptin) after volumetric muscle loss (VML) injury, primarily evaluating improvements at the neuromuscular junctions (NMJ). A full thickness model of VML injury to the tibialis anterior muscle of adult Lewis rats was used, and treatments included Herceptin, a ...

Abstract figure legend Left atrial myocytes have TAT‐associated faster Ca2+ release but are more prone to maladaptation at higher frequencies due to weaker peripheral SR Ca2+ uptake and smaller trigger Ca2+ current. Abstract Changes in heart rate affect Ca2+ signalling and contractility in ventricular muscle, but the effects on atrial Ca2+ signalling ...
