Primary Kidney Proximal Tubule Cells
2004Primary rabbit kidney epithelial cell cultures can be obtained that express renal proximal tubule functions. Toward these ends, renal proximal tubules are purified from the rabbit kidney by the method of Brendel and Meezan. To summarize, each kidney is perfused with iron oxide, which becomes associated with glomeruli.

REGULATION OF PROXIMAL TUBULE FUNCTION BY ANGIOTENSIN
Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology, 1992SUMMARY1. Independent of its effects on renal haemodynamics and glomerular filtration, angiotensin II (All) has direct actions on the proximal tubule involving transepithelial Na+, H+, HCO3‐, and water reabsorption, ammoniagenesis, gluconeogenesis and renal growth.2.

In Vitro Proximal Tubule Perfusion Preparation
2003Isolation and perfusion of single nephron segments was first described by Burg et al. (1) in 1966. This technique has allowed us to study both transepithelial and transmembrane transport in individual nephron segments, including the proximal tubule, under carefully controlled circumstances.

Water permeability and pathways in the proximal tubule
American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology, 1983The route of water transport in the proximal tubule could be either transjunctional or transcellular. A transjunctional route is supported by data showing high osmotic-to-diffusive water permeability ratios, the possible correlation of junctional leakiness to ions and nonelectrolytes with water permeability, and solvent drag of nonelectrolytes and ...
